This beautiful screenplay, an adaptation of the book by S.E. Hinton, plays with time and perspective. The narrator, in the present, reflects back on hardships in his youth that brought him to his present moment.

I used the motifs of scrapbook and the act of writing as the lens through which we see the story unfold: an examination of the past through an act of remembering in the present.
